About the Role
Global News Toronto is seeking two part-time Show Producers to join their team in Toronto. These roles report to the News Director of Multi-Market Content and involve varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Responsibilities
- Produce, line-up, and write news broadcasts for various markets, collaborating with teams across Canada.
- Write, edit, and produce packaged and live segments.
- Participate in editorial discussions and meetings.
- Collaborate with the Executive Producer and Anchor to define editorial direction and content.
- Work with Graphics teams to create elements that enhance storytelling and broadcast presentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in television broadcasting.
- Strong news writing skills.
- Exemplary leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent news judgment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain creativity in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle the demands and pressure of multiple broadcast deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Knowledge of and experience with social media tools and technologies (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) and related applications.
- Familiarity with news video editing.
- Demonstrate excellent writing and other TV production skills.
- Demonstrate a high comfort level providing clear constructive feedback.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to respond quickly and knowledgeably to breaking news.
