About the Role
Provides oversight and leadership to residential programs, collaborating with and directing staff to ensure quality services aligned with the agency's mission. Supports the mission of empowering individuals to become active community members and make life decisions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure residential program quality, regulatory compliance, and readiness for reviews, adhering to HCBS guidelines and maintaining a home-like environment.
- Maintain knowledge of program support area needs (HR, IT, property management) for effective communication.
- Ensure high-quality medical care and support in conjunction with the medical coordinator and RN.
- Manage staffing activities, including selection, supervision, and retention, to meet individual needs and service requirements.
- Oversee staff training and ongoing development to enhance the quality of care.
- Ensure appropriate, effective, and timely communication across all program settings.
- Lead the development and maintenance of positive relationships with individuals served, families, advocates, employees, and the community.
- Manage fiscal responsibilities, ensuring accountability within sites and personal accounts, including bi-monthly audits of personal accounts.
- Coordinate placements, verify pre-admission requirements, and ensure person-centered plans are developed for new individuals.
- Ensure efficient, confidential, and comprehensive record-keeping for individuals served, staff activities, and site maintenance.
- Be available on-site during evenings, overnights, and weekends as required by duties.
- Be available 24 hours a day for emergency response at sites.
- Participate in or chair agency committees, meetings, and training.
- Adhere to the Senior Residential Manual.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Human Services or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of or enrollment in agency Management Training.
- Valid Driver's License meeting agency policy.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations.
- Maintain Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.
- CPR certification.
- Medication Certification.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals manually and mechanically as required.
- Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from individuals, staff, regulatory agencies, or community members.
