About the Role

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to support the Medical and Radiation Oncology Departments at Texas Oncology in Austin, Texas. This role involves greeting patients, managing appointments, handling calls, and providing administrative support within a community oncology setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors courteously and professionally.
  • Check in patients and notify clinical staff of their arrival.
  • Provide and explain necessary paperwork, collect, proof, and file completed forms.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information in the system.
  • Collect co-pays and balances, providing receipts.
  • Answer, screen, and respond to routine questions, routing calls or taking messages.
  • Page clinic personnel as needed and communicate messages accurately.
  • Check patients out after examinations and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Provide patients with appointment details, including time, location, and instructions.
  • Record cancellations and missed appointments, rescheduling as necessary.
  • Notify appropriate staff of cancellations and document in patient charts.
  • Provide general administrative support, including filing charts and forms.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly lobby area.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of forms and office supplies.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws regarding patient records.
  • May type memos and forms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
  • Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
  • At least eighteen (18) months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required for Level 2.
  • Knowledge of practice personnel, daily routines, and scheduling is a plus for Level 2.
  • At least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required for Level Sr.
  • Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
