About the Role

You will play an important role in a dynamic and passionate team, collaborating on a variety of projects in the environment, renewable energies, hydroelectricity, transportation, materials, buildings, and climate change markets. Boldness, innovation, and collaboration are integral to our daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.
  • Perform operations management of the business to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Ensure business efficiency with emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction, and project profitability, including human resource management, employee engagement, and utilization.
  • Actively participate in Operations Centre meetings and communicate company, business unit, and Operations Centre objectives and challenges to Team Leaders and Project Managers.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring, and mobilize the group of team leaders, project managers, and other business resources.
  • Actively participate in the succession planning of the Geotechnical and Pavements business.
  • Assist in managing training plans and career development of employees within the Operations Centre.
  • Develop departmental budget guidelines for the fiscal year and review business financial activities against the budget.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients and internal teams within a multidisciplinary project context.
  • Manage own portfolio of projects.
  • Act as a senior professional in various projects.
  • Actively engage in the organization and tracking of major projects.
  • Analyze project planning, optimal resource utilization, and identify talent acquisition needs in collaboration with team leaders and project managers.
  • Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise work, projects, and team activities, ensuring projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Oversee client satisfaction and the establishment of long-term relationships.
  • Promote and develop the local market to increase the business base in the assigned area.
  • Support the business development team in efforts to increase market share locally and nationally.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering; a post-graduate degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in major technical and project management functions and business development.
  • Experience in engineering consulting and a deep understanding of Geotechnical, Materials, and Pavements Engineering fields.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Experience in a management role, demonstrating leadership, autonomy, and the ability to establish, maintain, and promote positive working relations.
  • Experience developing yearly budgets and interpreting P&L statements is an asset.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain security clearance.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.

Salary/Compensations

  • $130,113 to $170,773 CAD base per annum
