About the Role

We are seeking a senior full-stack engineer to develop product features across the Nomic platform, working on interfaces, APIs, and backend systems used by enterprise customers and developers. The role involves directing and managing AI coding agents, requiring architectural judgment for effective decomposition, output review, and maintaining codebase coherence. Emphasis is placed on engineering excellence, including clean architecture, thoughtful abstractions, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

Develop product features end-to-end, including UI, API, and data layer.
Build backend services using Python and TypeScript.
Develop frontend components using React/TypeScript.
Create APIs for both internal product use and external developers.
Integrate with AI and agent systems.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong full-stack skills, comfortable owning both frontend and backend.
Production experience with Python and TypeScript.
Active, intentional use of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) as a primary workflow.
Good instincts for API design, data modeling, and system architecture.
Ability to write clear, tested, and easily modifiable code, whether manually written or AI-generated.
Focus on end-user experience, not just implementation.
