About the Role

GPJ is seeking a strategic Sr. Account Director to manage experiential, conference, and event work for a large client, ensuring client success and account profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee margin levels and adapt to service changes within the assigned portfolio.
  • Ensure all timelines and budget requirements are met for account activities.
  • Nurture client and agency relationships, building trust with senior-level clients and vendors.
  • Create and develop direction and objectives for accounts, becoming a subject matter expert on client brands, businesses, and industries.
  • Support program direction, objectives, and plans.
  • Provide a high level of client service and satisfaction while deploying GPJ methodologies.
  • Drive account growth by pursuing and generating new revenue opportunities.
  • Communicate GPJ's full range of services internally and to clients.
  • Develop scopes of work and focus on account health, including HR%, temp spend, forecasting, and staffing.
  • Build, manage, and reconcile large and complex budgets, delegating work as needed.
  • Mentor and lead the team, taking responsibility for work quality and potentially managing direct reports.
  • Define team vision and align resources in collaboration with functional leaders.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams and motivate teams with dotted line reporting.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Fortune 500 brands is strongly desired.
  • May have one or more direct reports.
  • Able to independently create and develop account/program strategic direction and objectives.
  • Proactively engage with and enable/inspire the team to add innovative strategic and creative contributions.
  • Lead internal strategic meetings and present findings to clients.
  • Able to help identify, lead, and close new opportunities, strategically leveraging internal resources and teams.
  • Experience and confidence engaging and building respected, trusted peer-to-peer relationships with mid to senior-level client-side marketing executives.
  • Actively helps mentor/teach others on the Account team.
  • May help manage onsite resources.
  • Fully capable of building decks and presentations that tell a story in the client's language.
  • Possess executive presence and ability to command a room.
  • Understands how to effectively oversee overall, increasingly complex project timelines in line with strategic objectives.
  • Understand effective budget oversight and troubleshooting for larger, more complex budgets, leveraging SMEs as needed.
  • Ensures team proactively addresses key project financial metrics, including profitability and margin.
  • Ensures team accurately interprets and proactively addresses the impact of changes on project financial metrics.
  • Able to drive accountability with the team and assist with troubleshooting/continuous improvement around financial metrics.
  • Able to have strategic, more complex financial conversations with clients.
  • Has a clear understanding of PO and reconciliation process; ensures execution of accurate, timely client invoicing.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software including PPT, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Previous experience with ERP, Project Management software, or similar tools is preferred.

  • MBA or Executive MBA degree is a plus

Salary/Compensations

  • $150k - $170k
