About the Role

Join a mission-driven, philanthropy-based community and employee-care program dedicated to whole-person wellness at the Institute for Health & Healing (IHH) in San Francisco. Our team-based model emphasizes collaboration, prevention, and personalized healing journeys, allowing you to engage in integrative physician consults, coordinate care, and partner with complementary-therapy colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate conventional and complementary therapies into personalized treatment plans.
  • Serve as a physician consultant for patients seeking integrative approaches to complex or chronic conditions.
  • Support continuity and quality of care by maintaining accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Participate in community education, employee wellness programs, and philanthropic initiatives promoting whole-person health.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited residency (family medicine, internal medicine, or specialty).
  • Formal fellowship training (1–2 years) or certification in Integrative Medicine, Functional Medicine (IFM), or a similar program.
  • Experience integrating complementary modalities such as acupuncture, nutrition, mind-body medicine, herbal medicine, mindfulness, or yoga therapy.
  • Board Certification in Integrative Medicine through the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) or completion of an approved fellowship in Integrative Medicine highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in whole-person care — mind, body, and spirit.
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, NPs, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and behavioral health specialists.
