About the Role
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical and administrative duties relating to immunisation, primarily delivered on-site for primary and secondary children in schools and community clinic settings.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively to support the team, organisation, and stakeholders to facilitate service delivery.
- Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour during flu season.
- Promote and support the operation of the School Aged Immunisation Service.
- Support Programme Managers, Team Leads, and Clinical Leads.
- Attend sites across different locations as directed.
- Deliver effective, evidence-based, and competent patient care.
- Participate in clinical supervision and staff development.
- Report, monitor, and process clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints.
- Participate in audits and share findings for team learning.
- Maintain up-to-date record keeping in line with company policy.
- Contribute to team meetings.
- Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the position.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare professional with active registration (NMC, GPhC, HCPC).
- Nursing and/or Midwifery Qualification.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Experience working within PGD frameworks.
- Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
- Knowledge of informed consent principles.
- Computer literate with basic Excel knowledge.
- Experience with cold chain, ordering, and transport arrangements.
- Basic Life Support certification (Desirable).
- Evidence of signed-off competencies for relevant vaccinations (Desirable).
- Must be able to drive (Desirable).
