About the Role
The post holder will facilitate and deliver school-aged immunisation programmes by assisting nursing teams in schools and office settings to ensure safe and accessible public health services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of public health immunisation programmes.
- Attend community-based vaccination sessions in schools and local settings.
- Collaborate with nursing teams to ensure productive and safe vaccination sessions.
- Facilitate communication between the team, schools, families, and educational institutions.
- Manage consent form collection and track progress toward local area targets.
- Oversee the storage, transport, and delivery of vaccinations to sites.
- Identify and coordinate services for home-schooled children and those in Pupil Referral Units.
- Maintain databases and prepare documentation for school visits.
- Triage and verify online consent systems prior to vaccination sessions.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for School Immunisation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for administrative tasks via phone, email, and in-person.
- Maintain the cold chain and manage vaccine ordering and transport.
- Contribute to team meetings and perform duties commensurate with the role.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- GCSE level education or equivalent with grade C or higher in English and Maths.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload independently.
- Assertive, team-oriented, and critical thinking mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience working in a community or school setting (desirable).
- Experience working with children and young people (desirable).
- Full driving licence (desirable).
