About the Role

Lead the planning and trading of the department, ensuring stock levels are optimized to deliver sales, customer, and stock targets. Support the Head of Category in shaping strategic plans and collaborate with the Senior Buyer to achieve the best outcomes for the division.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly OTB to ensure intake flow aligns with forecast requirements, driving customer acquisition and sales while minimizing markdown.
• Oversee weekly order management, reviewing stock requirements for core replenishment and newness.
• Develop and nurture strong working relationships with brands to maximize sales opportunities.
• Support the buyer with negotiation of RTVs, promo, and markdown agreements.
• Maintain brand and department availability targets in line with business goals.
• Lead weekly and monthly trade reporting, summarizing performance against KPIs and providing trading recommendations.
• Drive category analysis with a strategic lens, assessing performance and stock level impacts to mitigate risk and maximize opportunity.
• Lead the category merchandising team and collaborate cross-functionally with Buying, Inventory, and external partners.
• Manage the development of team members to ensure they thrive and understand their contribution to category and company objectives.
• Champion best practices across the merchandising and wider category team.
• Participate in wider merchandising projects related to the category.
• Partner with other departments, such as events and marketing, to deliver on customer initiatives and meet KPIs.
• Deputize for the Merchandising Manager/Category Director as needed.

Requirements

• Established or Senior Merchandiser experience.
• Experience managing brands; beauty experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proven track record in a fast-paced retail business.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to present data effectively.
• Experience managing a team, including JM, AM, and MAA levels.
• Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
