About the Role

Pair Eyewear is seeking an FP&A Manager to partner with manufacturing and operations leaders, serving as the finance team's expert on costs and capital expenditures. This role involves building cost visibility, driving forecasting accuracy, and identifying opportunities to improve unit economics during company scaling.

Responsibilities

  • Own COGS forecasting and budgeting across all channels, including manufacturing standard costs, capex, purchase price variance, freight, duties, fulfillment, and inventory reserves.
  • Build and maintain SKU-level and BOM-level cost models for a high-SKU catalog, collaborating with Supply Chain on cost rollups for new products.
  • Analyze gross margin and unit economic performance monthly, bridging actuals vs. forecast and presenting variance drivers to finance leadership.
  • Partner with Operations on fulfillment and outbound freight cost analysis, tracking cost-per-order and cost-per-shipment trends.
  • Support inventory planning finance with purchase commitments, cash impact, E&O reserve analysis, and inventory turns.
  • Model tariff, duty, and supplier pricing scenarios to quantify their impact on landed cost and margin.
  • Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close on COGS accruals, inventory reconciliations, and margin reporting accuracy.
  • Build and improve reporting infrastructure for timely and trusted margin data.
  • Present findings to the leadership team to ensure strategic alignment.

Requirements

  • Analytical problem solver with a focus on data insights and business performance improvement.
  • Strong ownership mentality with a desire to build scalable processes.
  • Collaborative approach to build trusted partnerships across departments.
  • Ability to translate complex financial analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, making assumptions, and refining models.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining focus on business strategy.
  • Curious and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Skilled in building models from scratch, owning deliverables, and presenting findings.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, with 2–3 years focused on COGS, manufacturing finance, or supply chain finance.
  • Consumer goods experience strongly preferred, ideally at a startup or high-growth brand with DTC/ecommerce and wholesale channels.
  • Hands-on experience with BOM-based costing and high-SKU inventory environments.
  • Strong understanding of landed cost components.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills.
  • ERP experience (NetSuite a plus) and BI tools (Looker a plus).
  • Comfort working with imperfect data, building defensible answers, and documenting assumptions.
  • Clear communicator capable of distilling SKU-level detail into executive-ready insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
