About the Role

Responsible for assisting with the operation of the Seafood Department, including merchandising, preparation, and inventory. Assists the Seafood Manager with budgeting, financial aspects, and overseeing department clerks to ensure optimal sales.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of the seafood department, including product merchandising, preparation, arrangements, displays, and inventory levels.
  • Assist with ordering seafood product merchandise and supplies, and maintain product ordering in the absence of the seafood manager.
  • Assist the seafood manager with department record keeping, including financial aspects, payroll, and wrap.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service and courtesy, including accuracy of special orders.
  • Set seafood ice display to correct corporate standards.
  • Ensure all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations.
  • Assist Seafood Manager with the training and scheduling of new associates.
  • Read and implement daily e-mail communications from Seafood Merchandising.
  • Perform suggestive selling, sampling, and PA announcements.
  • Learn and maintain the computer-generated ordering system.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills.

Experience Level

  • 6-12 months of related experience

Education Level

  • High School Degree or equivalent

Salary/Compensations

  • $18.00- $24.00
