About the Role
As a Housekeeping House Attendant at the Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas, guest corridors, and back-of-house spaces. Your role is crucial in shaping the client experience by providing exceptional service and contributing to a positive work environment. Responsibilities
- Clean public areas of the hotel, employee locker rooms, restrooms, offices, and banquet pre-function spaces.
- Stock rooms and storage areas with clean linens.
- Pick up and deliver guest request items.
- Assist Housekeepers in moving heavy objects in guest rooms.
- Wash walls and windows as necessary.
- Keep guest corridors clean and neat at all times.
- Keep all guest corridors and public areas neat, vacuumed, and dusted.
- Ensure mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays, elevators, and doors are clean and mark/scuff-free.
- Keep all service elevator landings, stairwells, and linen storage rooms clean by sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Remove all trash from areas.
- Move racks of clean Rooms linen to Guest Room floors.
- Stock Linen Storage Rooms and daily with supplies and amenities.
- Empty trash and dirty linen from guest room floors.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries while in the lobby.
- Answer guest questions and direct them to the areas they desire.
- Assist Housekeepers as required, including moving beds and furniture, turning mattresses, and removing or hanging sheers and drapes.
- Pick up and deliver guest request items such as irons, ironing boards, cribs, and rollaways on a timely basis.
- Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
- Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- Notice and report any maintenance deficiencies or repairs needed to your manager.
- Gather and utilize the proper equipment, materials, and chemicals in cleaning all office space.
- Remove Room Service dishes to the service area.
- Remove trash from offices to the trash compactor area.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets in all office areas as needed.
- Clean guest room windows as necessary; keep all public area windows and glass clean and streak-free.
- Polish furniture and clean glass in all office areas when necessary.
- Mop any area without carpet.
- Clean and stock the office restrooms.
- Keep the lobby and restrooms neat, clean, and well supplied.
- Spot all furniture and keep it in its proper place.
- Clean ashtrays, urns, elevators, elevator doors, windows, carpets as well as collect trash throughout the hotel.
- Clean all brass in the public areas.
- Maintain all equipment and supplies and use them in a proper manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms and back of the house restroom facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Meeting Room floor.
- Remove snow from the lobby that is brought in from the outside.
- Keep the lobby and rain mats maintained during inclement weather.
- Utilize Rex – Hot SOS to be advised of assignments and or other computerized applications.
- Communicate with the housekeeping team and release pertinent information to the housekeeping team.
- Clean and maintain the main guest entrance area and adjacent plaza area including but not limited to removal of cigarette butts, trash, snow, leaves etc.
- Remove bodily fluids with the appropriate safety equipment.
- Clean and maintain terraces.
- Comply with any additional requests that may arise pertaining to Housekeeping duties.
- Report to work on time.
- Be aware of schedule at all times and notify the Supervisor in adequate time if unable to attend work.
- Adhere to meal break policy and proper payroll procedures.
- Use all equipment as required by assignment given.
- Move furniture and equipment as directed.
- Clean windows, mirrors, equipment, carpet, marble and upholstery as assigned.
- Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the housekeeping area.
