About the Role

Lead mechanic provides guidance to lower-level technicians in repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures, ensuring safe and proper maintenance of plant equipment for optimal reliability and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical repairs and services to equipment daily.
• Performs motor and gear box changes and maintenance.
• Contributes to daily start-up and monthly department meetings ensuring thorough communication to associates.
• Manages and monitors the performance and efficiency of repair operations.
• Actively participates in technical and safety training programs.
• Performs computer-related activities including work management, project scheduling, CAD, e-mail, calendar, and spreadsheets.
• Directs Maintenance Mechanics to maintain plant equipment safely and properly with the goal of 100% reliability and minimum downtime for unexpected repairs.
• Covers operations and maintenance positions as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of transportation mechanic experience.
• Must have a valid Driver's License
