About the Role

Responsible for delivering the highest quality service to patients while contributing to the smooth functioning of practice operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with courtesy, service, respect, and privacy.
  • Serve as a central communication source, being responsive, accessible, and visible.
  • Diffuse challenging situations appropriately.
  • Obtain complete and accurate information from patients/callers.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform check-in, registration, scheduling, and verification of demographic information.
  • Utilize computer systems for patient registration and data accuracy.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments to accommodate patient and provider needs.
  • Obtain and enter referrals and collect co-pays.
  • Monitor and support patients and visitors.
  • Facilitate timely patient flow and proactively solve flow issues.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and practice staff for optimal flow and service delivery.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and other areas for optimal flow and service delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
  • Maintain reception area signage and information clarity.
  • Monitor audio/visual images for appropriate programming and volume levels.
  • Contact appropriate departments for repairs or services and follow through.
  • Ensure Spanish translation services are provided for Spanish-speaking patients and employees.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, with accurate interpretation and translation skills.
  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English.
  • Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with others to offer ideas, identify issues, obtain information, or deliver services.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
