About the Role
As a Principal Product Designer for Market Data, you will own the design strategy for real-time financial platforms, including quotes, charting, and visualization systems across major financial brands. This senior individual-contributor role involves setting design direction, establishing shared patterns, and ensuring high-quality, accessible experiences for users ranging from retail investors to professional traders.
Responsibilities
- Own the design strategy for the Market Data platform across financial brands to drive engagement, retention, and revenue.
- Shape strategy with senior leadership and build partnerships to advance design direction.
- Solve complex, ambiguous problems by developing new methods for presenting financial information.
- Define and evolve market-data patterns within the Index Design System.
- Extend design influence across consumer, professional, and enterprise products.
- Set high standards for craft, including typography, information density, motion, and accessibility.
- Partner with Research and analytics to connect design decisions to business outcomes.
- Mentor and grow senior designers to strengthen the design culture and talent pipeline.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience with a focus on complex, systems-level or platform work.
- Deep expertise in designing data-rich experiences such as dashboards, analytics, or data visualization.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build alignment across competing priorities.
- Mastery of data visualization, information design, and design systems.
- Excellence in Figma for design communication and documentation.
- Strong command of design fundamentals and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience mentoring designers and raising team craft.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
