About the Role
Nursing attendants at NewYork-Presbyterian are invaluable care providers who serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families. They partner with Nurses and ICU Technicians to monitor patient vitals, ensure meal delivery, and provide safe transport. This role focuses on compassionate patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and contributing to a smooth-running, fast-paced hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients
- Ensure the delivery of meals
- Provide safe transport for patients
- Provide compassionate patient focus
- Perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Improve the patient experience
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required
- Previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting
- Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program
- Current enrollment in a BSN program - at the junior year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum
