About the Role

Serve as a key second-line-of-defense professional, independently assessing and challenging operational risks across business units, regional, and legal entity levels. Partner closely with business and control functions to identify emerging risks, drive remediation, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how risk is managed across a growing international consumer banking operation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in change management and new business initiatives to identify and assess risks, challenge the proposed control environment, and recommend approval.
  • Perform deep dive reviews of areas of emerging risk or potential control gaps to identify issues for the business to remediate.
  • Document and share analysis with business stakeholders, entering issues and action plans into the firm’s system of record.
  • Perform the independent second line risk assessment for the operational risks in Chase DE using both qualitative and quantitative means.
  • Assist in developing testing activities using a risk-based approach and oversee the execution of proposed testing.
  • Prepare materials for regional control committees/forums to inform on the outcomes of Operational Risk activities.
  • Promote consistency and adoption of best practices, collaborating as necessary with respect to significant legal entity matters.
  • Promote and instill a strong culture of operational risk management, collaborating with the business and second-line functions to continually improve operational processes supporting safe business growth and informing and influencing risk-based decision making.

Requirements

  • Experience in Retail/Digital Banking (business or functions such as Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or Control Management)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, driven and inquisitive
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to identify potential process and control issues
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
  • Ability to embrace and drive change
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
