About the Role

As a Compliance Analyst at Fanatics Betting & Gaming, you will support the development, implementation, and enhancement of our regulatory compliance framework, particularly as operations expand into Canada. This role is crucial for maintaining a scalable compliance program that addresses gaming, financial crime, consumer protection, and regulatory obligations, reporting directly to the Manager of Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of international compliance frameworks.
  • Assist with drafting, updating, and maintaining policies, procedures, controls, and documentation necessary to support regulatory compliance.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of compliance programs and operational controls across the business.
  • Assist with licensing, registration, audit, and regulatory examination activities with applicable gaming authorities and regulators.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Payments, Marketing, Operations, Responsible Gaming, and Legal teams to ensure documented processes align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across jurisdictions and escalate relevant changes to stakeholders.
  • Support the organization’s AML/ATF compliance framework in accordance with FINTRAC requirements and the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).
  • Assist with customer due diligence (“CDD”), enhanced due diligence (“EDD”), sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity escalation processes.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of regulatory reporting obligations and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring, testing, and risk assessment activities to identify areas requiring remediation or process enhancement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and reduce compliance risk.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects with clear and consistent communication.
  • Support cross-functional teams during new product launches and market expansion initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing compliance support and guidance across the business.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in compliance, AML, risk management, operations, audit, or regulatory support roles.
  • Familiarity with AI, experience in AI adoption and integration of AI into key processes.
  • Experience within the online gaming, casino, sportsbook, fintech, payments, or financial services industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks, including Ontario and Alberta gaming requirements, preferred.
  • Basic understanding of FINTRAC requirements and AML/ATF obligations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and operational excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity as the organization scales and assignments evolve accordingly.
  • Willingness to invest the time and dedication needed to ensure accuracy of assigned tasks.
  • Strong collaborator who works effectively both independently and cross-functionally.
  • Curious and fast learner, not afraid to dive into complex regulatory and operational challenges.
