About the Role
The RHY Aftercare & Outreach Specialist provides comprehensive, trauma-informed services to runaway and homeless youth (RHY) through direct care, street outreach, and aftercare support. This advanced role engages youth, coordinates services, implements programming, and strengthens community partnerships to promote safety, stability, and positive youth development. The Specialist mentors staff and youth while supporting agency goals, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Valid NYS driver’s license
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services.
- Proficiency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), DBT, and trauma-informed practices.
Experience Level
- 3 years of relevant experience
Education Level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
