About the Role
Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is seeking Substitute Food Service Workers/Cashiers to support the school cafeteria team at Lackawanna City School District. This flexible, on-call position is ideal for individuals seeking part-time work within a school community, particularly parents or retirees.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students.
- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and cafeteria.
- Restock supplies and assist with food prep and cleanup.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Pass required background checks per district and NYS regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior food service or school cafeteria experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong team player who communicates respectfully and works well with coworkers, students, and school staff.
- Reliable and dependable, with consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to support teammates and help wherever needed.
- Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellent service.
- Ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced, noisy school cafeteria environment.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Successfully pass all required background checks.
