About the Role

This role sits within Markets, as part of the FX Options Trading Desk, working closely with colleagues across Quantitative Research and Technology to design, prototype, and deliver electronic trading capabilities for FX Options. The purpose of the role is to own the roadmap and delivery of FX Options electronic trading tooling, including electronic pricing, volatility surface marking, exchange-listed FX options execution, and backtesting infrastructure. This is a hands-on position requiring strong stakeholder leadership and the ability to stay close to the code—prototyping solutions and validating them against live market behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for FX Options electronic trading tooling, balancing trader demand, P&L impact, technical feasibility, and strategic direction, and acting as the key point of accountability for the desk
  • Define and deliver electronic pricing and execution capabilities across volatility surface construction and automated marking, streaming/RFQ pricing for vanilla and exotics, and exchange-listed FX options execution (e.g., CME)
  • Prototype and validate models and decision logic (primarily in Python) to de-risk delivery, resolve ambiguous requirements with data, and partner with core Quant on model development and validation
  • Build backtesting and analytics capability to assess strategy performance and support evidence-based enhancement prioritisation
  • Lead end-to-end delivery and operational ownership, including requirements, testing/UAT, rollout, post-release support, issue investigation, and contributing to controls/monitoring and broader e-trading architecture
  • Identify and implement AI/ML-driven workflow improvements that enhance trader experience and deliver measurable business outcomes

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in FX (or closely related Rates / Equity Derivatives) electronic trading in a Quant, Strat, Quant Developer, or Quant/Product Owner capacity
  • Strong mathematical background and the ability to translate trading problems into well-specified quantitative and engineering work
  • Strong understanding of FX Options pricing, including volatility surface representations, Greeks and second-order risks, practical vol marking, and risk management for an exotic options book
  • Strong coding ability in Python and/or C++, sufficient to prototype pricing logic, analyse trading data, and read/review production code
  • Demonstrated experience building or owning electronic pricing / auto-quoting systems, including controls and operational readiness
  • Proven track record of delivering production changes end-to-end, including handling edge cases, post-release support, and working constructively through trader feedback and challenge
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across Trading, Quant and Technology teams
