About the Role

The Manager of Aviation Technical Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for specialized technical programs, including NDT, IFEC, and line maintenance. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives operational efficiency, and manages technical personnel across a national and international network.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Aviation Technical Services operations across the company network.
  • Develop standardized procedures and best practices for specialized maintenance services.
  • Monitor operational performance via KPI dashboards and resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities to expand technical service capabilities through new offerings, technologies, and partnerships.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with CARs, FAA regulations, and OEM technical documentation.
  • Provide leadership, performance management, and technical mentoring for specialized technical personnel.
  • Manage department operating budgets, capital equipment planning, and contract administration.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of aviation maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing specialized aviation technical services.
  • Experience within a Transport Canada AMO.
  • Experience managing multiple operating locations.
  • Experience managing customer contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English and French.
  • Ability to travel regularly (20–30%) to facilities across Canada and the United States.
  • Experience working with FAA regulatory requirements is considered an asset.
