About the Role

Provides a secure and safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians, personnel, and volunteers. Responsible for patrolling and monitoring facility premises, observing and reporting suspicious activities, and responding to emergencies. Renders assistance and security services, including monitoring and restraining violent patients, investigating incidents, and liaising with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Patrolling and monitoring facility premises
  • Observing and reporting suspicious and unauthorized activities and unsafe conditions
  • Controlling access and keys
  • Emergency response and notification
  • Assisting staff, physicians, patients, and visitors with security-related services
  • Monitoring and restraining violent patients
  • Investigating and documenting incidents
  • Liaising between staff and local law enforcement agencies

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer certification
  • 1-year recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge of security officer duties with emphasis on physical and emotional maturity for a healthcare environment
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Decisive judgment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to write incident reports
  • Ability to read business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
