About the Role

Provides a secure and safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians, personnel, and volunteers, minimizing threats to personal well-being and property. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring premises, observing and reporting suspicious activities and unsafe conditions, managing access control and keys, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Patrolling and monitoring facility premises
  • Observing and reporting suspicious and unauthorized activities and unsafe conditions
  • Responsible for access control and control of keys
  • Emergency response and notification
  • Rendering assistance and security-related services to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors
  • Monitoring and restraining violent patients
  • Investigating and documenting incidents relative to the facility
  • Providing liaison between staff and local law enforcement agencies

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer certification
  • 1-year recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge of security officer duties with emphasis on physical and emotional maturity for judgment and diplomacy in a healthcare environment
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to write incident reports and read business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
