About the Role
Assist in the hardware electrical design of new or revised products, equipment, and installations, utilizing processes based on established engineering principles to meet requirements. This role involves designs of moderate complexity.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of new or revised products, equipment, and installations utilizing established engineering principles to meet customer and Railway requirements.
- Manage requirements for all assigned projects or products.
- Create schematics for designs.
- Apply knowledge of Engineering Process and Lifecycle.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and verification.
- Document work according to internal and normative standards.
- Present technical issues at design reviews.
- Provide technical assistance to adjacent specialties, such as Safety and Program Management.
- Work harmoniously in a team environment while maintaining professionalism in the job and relationships.
- Track progress on all assigned tasks.
- Verify that all assigned work is completed accurately.
Requirements
- 0–3 years of work experience in the industry.
- Experience with cabling, grounding techniques, and surge protection.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering Principles, including power circuits design, analog and digital electronic circuits, microprocessors, and telecommunications circuits.
- Experience with engineering tools: CAD systems (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical), Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, Protocol Analyzers.
- Well-developed verbal and writing skills in English to allow clear communication and preparation of concise and information-filled documents/work packages.
- Ability to follow directions and work instructions, using sound judgment in the performance of assigned work.
- Ability to present pros and cons for various courses of action.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of diplomas and work experience.
