About the Role
HELP USA is seeking an Intake Supervisor to manage shelter site operations during evening, night, and weekend shifts, serving as the primary contact for new clients and guiding them through the intake process.
Responsibilities
- Enter client data into DHS' CARES database.
- Participate in bed counts and report census counts to IVC.
- Supervise and/or aid in coordinating daily intakes, bed assignments, and client service tasks.
- Supervise subordinate staff.
- Collaborate with external entities to facilitate language access.
- Ensure the provision of optimal customer service to clients.
- Handle community relations and liaise with relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with regulations from NYS DHS, NYS OTDA, NYC FDNY, NYC Dept. of Health, NYC Coalition for the Homeless, etc.
- Assume direct service/program responsibilities in the event of insufficient staffing.
- Collaborate with DHS PD to guarantee daily facility security and safety.
Requirements
- Obtain FDNY F-80 certification within 3 months.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in residential facility settings.
- Capability to obtain and uphold First Aid/CPR certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
