About the Role

The Ontario Fetal Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital is a specialized clinic-style unit dedicated to enhancing the well-being of mothers and fetuses. The program provides comprehensive services including fetal ultrasound, assessment, early detection, and in-utero therapy, collaborating with SickKids to address fetal anomalies and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform obstetrical and fetal imaging procedures with a focus on expanding skills in areas like fetal cardiology
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain ultrasound, medical imaging, and ancillary equipment
  • Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
  • Participate in teaching, educational, research, and quality improvement programs
  • Perform patient care responsibilities to facilitate optimal outcomes
  • Execute cross-functional and cross-site responsibilities as required
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited degree or post-diploma Ultrasound program
  • Registered with Sonography Canada for Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Registered with Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP)
  • Registered with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Credentials must include Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated maintenance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
  • Maintain clinical skills in required modalities
  • Fulfill and maintain departmental certification requirements such as Nuchal Translucency
