About the Role

FT Academy is the Financial Times’ learning business, dedicated to empowering individuals and organisations through world-class professional learning experiences. As the Marketing Manager, you will plan, deliver and optimise integrated marketing campaigns across the FT Academy portfolio, including the FT Board Director Programme and its flagship NED Diploma. This is a broad, hands-on role combining campaign delivery, product marketing and marketing operations, working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Operations, Brand & Design and the wider FT to drive awareness, lead generation, enrolment and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across the FT Academy portfolio, including flagship programmes such as the NED Diploma.
  • Deliver multi-channel campaigns across email, paid media, social media and internal FT channels.
  • Support programme launches and commercial initiatives that drive customer acquisition, engagement, enrolment and retention.
  • Partner with Commercial and Operations colleagues to align marketing activity with revenue and enrolment objectives.
  • Manage campaign timelines, budgets and project plans to ensure activity is delivered effectively and on schedule.
  • Lead the execution of marketing campaigns within Bloomreach, including audience segmentation, campaign builds and automated customer journeys.
  • Maintain high campaign standards through robust testing, quality assurance and continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain marketing databases and ensure customer data is accurate, compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Act as the marketing team’s lead for GDPR, consent management and marketing compliance.
  • Develop and maintain marketing processes, documentation and best-practice guidance.
  • Find opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency through automation and AI.
  • Monitor campaign performance against agreed benchmarks and commercial objectives.
  • Produce regular reports and dashboards to support marketing and commercial decision-making.
  • Analyse customer behaviour and campaign performance to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Support customer segmentation and database growth strategies using audience insight and data.
  • Recommend and implement testing initiatives that continually improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Manage website content, ensuring it remains accurate, engaging and up to date.
  • Write and edit clear, persuasive marketing copy across email, web, social media and promotional materials.
  • Work with Brand & Design colleagues to develop creative assets that support campaign objectives.
  • Ensure messaging consistently reflects the FT Academy proposition and the wider FT brand.
  • Build strong working relationships with marketing teams across the FT, including FT Live, FT Commercial and the Reader Revenue Group.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and marketing partners where appropriate.
  • Support wider FT Academy marketing initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of marketing activity.

Requirements

  • Around five years’ experience (or equivalent) in a marketing role.
  • Experience supporting commercial teams to achieve lead-generation, enrolment or revenue objectives.
  • Strong experience planning and delivering integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Experience using a marketing automation platform such as Bloomreach or a comparable system.
  • A good understanding of CRM systems, customer segmentation and marketing data.
  • Experience managing marketing compliance requirements, including GDPR and consent management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical action.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and communication skills.
  • Strong project management, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • A commercially focused approach and experience delivering measurable marketing outcomes.
  • Confidence working collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Curiosity about emerging marketing technologies and AI, with a willingness to test new ways of working.
