About the Role

Deliver early-stage risk-based security strategies and planning that inform broader concept and master planning stages, supporting clients in the Americas as part of a US-based Americas team of over 100 crisis and security consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake fee-earning consultancy including risk assessment, security strategy definition, high-level planning, concept and detailed master planning, and concept and detailed technical design.
  • Develop performance specifications and design guidance notes.
  • Assist with and design for engagements such as technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections, and approvals.
  • Design physical and electronic security systems in conjunction with specialist engineers.
  • Support the adoption of innovative approaches to current practices and new solutions.
  • Handle client and prospect requests effectively to strengthen client relationships.
  • Create proposals and build project budgets to define scope and determine pricing.
  • Maintain accurate financial forecasting, project planning, resource planning, and financial reporting.
  • Manage operational planning and responsibility for engagements, including quality oversight and compliance with company policies.
  • Contribute collaboratively to the performance management of team members.
  • Act as a thought leader and coordinate with peer groups across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of CPTED principles and other global leading initiatives, including Secured by Design and recognized public and private sector safety and security planning guidance such as UFC, ISO31000, and NIST.
  • Experience delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across the AIA model stages.
  • Proven ability to operate successfully at a senior level by implementing policy, driving quality, and growing a business.
  • Proven experience in delivering consultancy-based engagements.
  • Experience managing people effectively.
  • Experience overseeing successful budgeting, project management, and project closure.
  • Membership in a security or design engineering-related institute.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, including a proven ability to participate in speaking engagements.
  • Ability to liaise with clients effectively and build successful relationships.
  • Capability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.
  • A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management, design, or related security, crisis, and/or business continuity fields or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
  • A relevant security-related professional certification.
  • Knowledge of and experience using design-related software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project, Bluebeam, and other relevant platforms.
  • Travel up to 50% may be necessary.
  • Valid Driver's License and Passport required.
