About the Role

Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services, coordinate all integrated program operations, assist in monitoring staff tasks, and provide direct service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise counseling and support staff.
• Oversee the Opioid Treatment Program and collaborate with the Medical Director and Multi-disciplinary Team.
• Assist with scheduling and completing assessments and intake processes.
• Instruct and monitor counseling staff in developing individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor timely completion of treatment plans, progress notes, discharge planning, and referral follow-ups by counseling staff.
• Ensure counseling staff utilize evidence-based practices tailored to participant needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Recognize and respond to high-risk factors including suicidal and homicidal ideation.
• Recognize, respond to, and defuse volatile situations.
• Act as a liaison with networking and referring agencies.
• Supervise operations staff including kitchen, transportation, and maintenance.
• Manage health code requirements and kitchen maintenance compliance.
• Supervise proper stocking and re-stocking of program supplies.
• Supervise menu planning with the cook to ensure variety and nutritional soundness.
• Oversee monthly calendars with diverse activities to meet contractual units of service.
• Maintain compliance with standards set by NYC Office of Addiction and Supports (OASAS), Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), and CARF accreditation.
• Assist the Director with training volunteers and staff.
• Manage deadlines for monthly reports, units of service, fire drills, and certifications.
• Manage completion of all unit targets and goals.
• Provide on-site oversight of recreational, social, educational, and health activities.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Develop alternative solutions with the director.
• Conduct Quality and Control reviews monthly.
• Follow Federal, State, and Elmcor guidelines on confidentiality.
• Maintain current knowledge on counseling issues related to substance abuse and psychosocial disorders.
• Assist with counseling services and maintain a caseload during staff shortages.
• Perform Director's duties in their absence.
• Directly supervise all coordinators and operations staff.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and laws.

Requirements

• BS/BA Degree from an accredited college with a major in counseling, psychology, social work or a human services related discipline and 1 year of experience working with applicable populations with substance abuse disorders.
• Knowledge of MAT programming.
• Must receive/obtain First Aid, CPR, AED, Medication Observation training.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• CASAC and 1-2 years of supervisory experience working with applicable populations with substance abuse /co-occurring disorders.
• Must have computer skills.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check, obtain clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services and be drug free.
