About the Role
Lead priority marketing campaigns for bestselling authors, breakout debuts, and books with broad cultural impact within the Ballantine Bantam Dell division. This role is ideal for an experienced title marketer who thrives on developing ambitious, creative campaigns for bestselling authors and high-profile books.
Responsibilities
- Drive marketing campaigns for a broad list of fiction and nonfiction titles, combining big-picture planning with hands-on digital and social execution.
- Partner closely with authors and agents to develop customized marketing campaigns that reflect each author's vision, connect with readers, and support their publishing goals.
- Manage and mentor 2–3 marketers, supporting their growth while collaborating with the Senior Director on team development and department initiatives.
- Turn audience insights, market trends, and sales data into actionable strategy, setting clear goals and refining tactics to improve performance.
- Partner across editorial, publicity, sales, consumer marketing, publishing, and leadership to align priorities, maximize opportunities, and deliver cohesive marketing campaigns.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of marketing experience, preferably in trade publishing, with a proven track record of leading successful title campaigns.
- Strong strategic thinking and creative campaign development.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Able to influence and build trust at all levels of the business.
- Outstanding organizational ability and the capacity to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
