About the Role
Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY (HOACNY), a recipient of the Best Places to Work in Central New York award, is seeking a full-time Oncology Pharmacist. HOACNY delivers cancer care services Monday through Friday, with day hours, across three locations: East Syracuse, Camillus, and Auburn. This role is ideal for a motivated, team-oriented individual aiming to make a significant impact in their career.
Responsibilities
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of the medication services department.
- Oversee the dispensing of commercially available antineoplastic drugs.
- Assess medication orders for clinical accuracy.
- Monitor patient response to drug therapy and compliance to treatment.
- Recommend changes or alternative therapies as needed.
- Assist patients with education on side effect management.
- Provide drug-related clinical information to providers and care teams.
- Assist patients requiring financial assistance for their treatment.
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work with potential exposure to toxic drugs and infectious patients.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to maintain records and files.
- Ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skills
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of clinical retail pharmacy operations
