About the Role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician possesses technical skills in machine and facility maintenance and can perform these tasks confidently and efficiently. This position serves as the Company's Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Lubrication Champion, responsible for maximizing equipment reliability through planned maintenance, equipment inspections, lubrication management, and mechanical repairs. The technician works proactively to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems according to established schedules.
  • Complete and document preventative maintenance work order accurately and on time.
  • Perform routine inspections, adjustments, and servicing of equipment to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve preventive maintenance practices and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures before they result in downtime.
  • Monitor the condition of mechanical components including bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, rollers, and drive systems.
  • Recommend corrective actions that improve equipment reliability and extend equipment life.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and assist in implementing long-term corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance personnel to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore functionality.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on production equipment, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related machinery.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying reasons for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all required safety practices.
  • Conduct equipment safety inspections and identify hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
  • Document repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks performed, including parts used and labor hours expended.
  • Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs for management review.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records within the Company's maintenance management system.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in industrial mechanical maintenance and facility maintenance.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial lubrication principles and equipment reliability practices preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
  • Work environment may include exposure to noise, vibration, moving mechanical equipment, and hazardous materials.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in elevated work areas.
  • Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate maintenance needs, including evenings, weekends, overtime, or emergency call-ins.
  • Ability to walk, stand, kneel, bend, climb, push, pull, and carry materials throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
