Start your Engineering career at The London Eye, working alongside skilled professionals to learn about Engineering, Maintenance, stores management, Asset management & Compliance. You will gain an understanding of safety requirements, with Health & Safety as your top priority, and learn about career opportunities at Merlin Entertainments. You will receive a clear training and development plan, with support through classroom and practical experience during your 3.5-year apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
- Learn Engineering, Maintenance, stores management, Asset management & Compliance at The London Eye.
- Gain an understanding of statutory and legislative requirements for guest and business safety.
- Prioritize Health & Safety in all aspects of the role.
- Develop a solid understanding of Health, Safety and Risk Assessment including manual handling.
- Learn Analytical and scientific methods for Engineers.
- Study Instrumentation and Control Principles and Applications.
- Undertake Mathematics for Engineering Technicians.
- Understand Principles of attraction/ride maintenance strategy and preventative maintenance.
- Learn Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Digital Principles, Processes and Applications.
- Study Quality Management/Assurance Principles and Safety Management Systems.
- Understand Applications for Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
- Learn Destructive and non-destructive inspection techniques.
- Study Ride and Attraction maintenance processes, principles and applications.
- Learn Principles of First Aid and supporting the evacuation of customers.
Requirements
- Has at least 5 GCSE’s at C/4+ including Maths, or equivalent (predicted grades accepted).
- Energetic and proactive with a passion for engineering and a willingness to learn and develop.
- Demonstrate self-discipline in academic studies and workplace responsibilities, including punctuality and attendance.
- Excellent attention to detail for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- A “can do” attitude and endless energy and enthusiasm.
- Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Embrace future technology and use it to develop skills.
- Must be available for an assessment day.
