About the Role

This role is responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the maintenance workforce and ensuring cost-effective utilization of the maintenance facility. You will oversee assigned maintenance shops, ensuring they are appropriately staffed, operate within budget, and meet all safety and government regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize maintenance workforce efficiency and cost-effective facility utilization.
  • Oversee assigned maintenance shops for staffing, budget adherence, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure shop buildings and yards are equipped with necessary tools and safety equipment.
  • Verify employees complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure shops comply with all government regulations (EPA, OSHA).
  • Lead the maintenance shop and supervise shop supervisors and employees.
  • Monitor purchases and take corrective action for policy/procedure non-compliance.
  • Determine optimal repair solutions for equipment.
  • Lead accident estimates and bids for outsourced equipment.
  • Negotiate with local vendors for services and supplies.
  • Ensure customer locations have written schedules for tire inflation and safety checks.
  • Lead customer site trailer maintenance and provide feedback on programs.
  • Interact with departments to measure maintenance performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in field maintenance cost reduction programs and collaborate with personnel.
  • Conduct or coordinate reviews of SOPs and policies to support the shop.
  • Proactively assist others in achieving organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Previous shop leadership experience.
  • Vendor negotiation experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (for specific locations only).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • 73,000 to 90,000 Annual (Pay Depending On Experience)
