About the Role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you will provide Partner-led service and passion for food to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your efforts will contribute to customer loyalty and the Waitrose brand reputation. This role offers a Night Premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00. Join the founding team of a new Waitrose shop in Cricklewood, opening on October 22nd, 2026, and help build it from the ground up. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the quality, integrity, and unique shopping experience that customers love. This is an opportunity to be part of a new opening and help make the newest branch a local favorite. Contracts range from 8 to 37.5 hours per week, available on both temporary and permanent bases. Training begins September 21st.
Responsibilities
- Stock replenishment to ensure shelves are full and products are correctly placed.
- Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
- Reducing wastage through product due diligence and markdowns.
- Supporting the wider shop team with tasks such as checkout, Click & Collect, and on-demand orders.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment through general shopkeeping tasks.
Requirements
- Communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction.
- Experience of working in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
- Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
- Flexible approach to support the entire branch.
- Some roles are subject to pre-employment vetting, which may include DBS checks and financial probity checks.
