This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference within a global community of optimists and problem-solvers, contributing to the company's mission of giving people the confidence to move forward and seize opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of professional indemnity risks, applying sound underwriting practices to assess, evaluate, and price new business, renewals, endorsements, and adjustments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers/clients to generate submission flow, secure new business opportunities, and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Offer best in class service to brokers/clients, producing timely quotes and managing the end-to-end renewal process.
  • Make decisions on whether to accept, decline, or refer risks, exercising underwriting authority within defined limits and clearly documenting underwriting rationale.
  • Anticipate market trends and keep track of specific underwriting issues, legal developments, and emerging risks affecting professional indemnity lines.
  • Assist with PI portfolio management with a focus on strategic, profitable, and sustainable growth.
  • Actively promote the company brand within the market.

Requirements

  • Experience in professional indemnity or financial lines underwriting and/or broking, with recognised knowledge of PI insurance products.
  • Excellent local market knowledge and a strong professional reputation within the PI market.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex risk information, financial data, and statistical analysis.
  • Sound decision-making ability, particularly the confidence to make underwriting decisions under pressure and with incomplete information.
  • Commercial awareness and a financial mindset, with the ability to balance risk and reward effectively.
  • Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
