About the Role
Lead the global strategy and delivery of Market Data Services categories, including real-time and reference data that support investment decision-making and risk analysis. This role is accountable for category strategy, vendor management, and sourcing service delivery across an enterprise-wide portfolio, aiming to transform how Market Data categories are managed to amplify investment outcomes and firm-wide priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement coordinated Market Data Services (MDS) category strategies aligned to enterprise priorities, balancing cost, risk, and quality.
- Direct the evaluation of data and research providers, platforms, data infrastructure, and services based on usage, market dynamics, and strategic value.
- Provide leadership for complex and high-impact supplier engagements, including strategic partnerships with key data providers.
- Guide negotiations, shape commercial strategies, and strengthen supplier performance through structured engagement and governance.
- Ensure alignment with relevant licensing and risk considerations.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, influencing how Market Data Services are sourced and optimized across the firm.
- Challenge demand, manage significant market data budgets, and build financial insights into consumption patterns to optimize cost, value, and overall spend.
- Partner across business groups to ensure aligned and effective engagement with strategic suppliers.
- Direct the evolution of an integrated service delivery and supplier engagement model across MDS, ensuring scalable operations.
- Enhance platform, data, and workflow capabilities.

Requirements
- Extensive experience leading Market Data categories, sourcing, and supplier management organizations.
- Strong track record of developing and implementing enterprise-level strategies and leading change.
- Experience leading complex supplier negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships, including engagements with significant financial and operational impact.
- Effective at partnering with senior business leaders, influencing decisions, and aligning sourcing strategies to broader enterprise priorities.
- Experienced people leader who builds strong teams, develops leadership capability, and creates an environment where individuals can perform at a high level and grow.
- Strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to assess market conditions, evolve sourcing approaches, and drive long-term value across the supplier base.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing and supplier strategies that align with enterprise priorities and business needs.
- Experience leading complex, high-value negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships at scale.
- Strong understanding of research platforms, data services, supplier lifecycle management, and third-party risk and governance practice, and market licensing and usage considerations.
- Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders to influence demand, sourcing decisions, and third-party cost optimization.
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing, multi-level teams.
- Deep understanding of sourcing disciplines, including RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiation, supplier lifecycle management, and risk mitigation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders and present effectively at executive levels.
- Proficiency with sourcing tools, data analysis, and technologies that support sourcing real-time and reference data delivering, reporting, and decision-making.

- Southern California Base Salary Range: $234,276-$398,269
