About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term contract role is for a Senior Health Economics and Outcomes Research Manager based in Moorgate, London. The HTA & OR team is one of the largest and busiest in the UK, offering significant learning opportunities and enabling national access to novel medicines and vaccines. The role involves collaborating globally to communicate the clinical and economic value of company medicines, working with internal teams and external stakeholders with a patient-centric approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HTA process for a single technology or indication, focusing on the economic argument's suitability for the HTA strategy.
  • Develop and adapt materials and evidence generation activities to demonstrate the value of company assets under the JCVI’s remit.
  • Optimize submission strategy, ensuring economic arguments are appropriate, robust, and consistent with clinical data.
  • Deliver high-quality dossiers on time and lead post-submission activities.
  • Devise strategies to optimize success in national value assessment and ensure economic models support these strategies.
  • Lead the development of high-quality HTA dossiers and manage the entire value assessment process.
  • Ensure dossiers are clear, concise, and coherent, accurately describing methods, assumptions, results, and uncertainties.
  • Manage vendors providing content, ensuring documents meet strategic, technical standards, and timelines.
  • Manage vendors providing UK deliverables, such as model adaptations and SLR/NMA work.
  • Support the global organization’s early health economic model build to accommodate UK & Ireland requirements.
  • Ensure UK requirements are fed into the global organization’s design of clinical trials.
  • Guide the development and design of UK cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for HTA submissions.
  • Input into other aspects of evidence synthesis for HTA submissions.
  • Represent the company in various settings, including NICE Technology Appraisal Committee meetings and advisory boards.
  • Contribute bespoke solutions to technical challenges in HTA submission strategies and respond to emerging challenges.
  • Utilize real-world data to address data gaps supporting national access decisions and uptake.
  • Support the preparation and management of advisory boards with clinical and health economic experts.
  • Engage with customers and external stakeholders to understand the real-world environment for any technology.
  • Work with global and UK strategic pricing colleagues as required.
  • Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams on appraisal risks and opportunities, soliciting input for stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead evidence generation activities addressing gaps relevant to HTA/JCVI dossiers.
  • Support the generation of economic evidence for lifecycle management, uptake, and implementation of novel treatments.
  • Contribute to or lead health economic methodological research initiatives.
  • Conduct landscape assessments for pipeline products, focusing on HTA and health economic risks and mitigations.
  • Support New Product Planning colleagues to anticipate HTA requirements in UK launch plans.
  • Ensure necessary horizon scanning is up to date.
  • Contribute to cross-functional strategy sessions with medical, marketing, market access, and external affairs colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of technical expertise within the HTA & OR team and the broader company.
  • Stay updated on best practice statistical and health economic methods, clinical trial design, and reporting.
  • Coach and mentor health economics managers on technical methods.
  • Potentially have line management responsibilities.
