About the Role
The Office of Student Engagement seeks a student worker to support programming for commuter students and act as the university mascot, the Gnarls. This role involves assisting the mascot at various events and supporting other mascot-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a student officer on the Gnarls Squad Team, attending various on and off campus events hosted through Recreation or Student Affairs
- Wear mascot suit and attend events as Gnarls.
- Support the management of the Gnarls schedule and related communications
- Staff events, meetings, and office hours in person.
- Prepare for events and support in mascot suit transportation.
- Process expense reports and purchases related to the Gnarls Squad events team.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to community building and teamwork
- Reliable, organized, and communicative
- Able to manage a hybrid schedule and confirm weekly changes for event staffing
- Must be able to work at least one weekend or evening event per month
Skills
- Mascot/mascot handler experience (preferred)
- Office or community building environment experience (preferred)
