About the Role
Lead Advanced Surgical Fluid & Flow NPI projects as part of platform project initiatives, driving cross-functional execution, managing technical and operational deliverables, and ensuring alignment with strategic program goals. Serve as the central point of coordination across engineering, supply chain, regulatory, and OEM stakeholders for timely and high-quality project milestone delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of large-scale projects for product development (NPI), ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget across all development phases.
- Create and monitor project plans including milestone timelines, COGS, project costs, and NREs.
- Guide the project team through individual development phases in compliance with Novanta’s Design Control Process.
- Align and coordinate shared resources within a global organization.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration through structured sprint planning, Obeya style meetings, and milestone fidelity reviews.
- Manage risk mitigation strategies, including resource planning, cost reduction opportunities, and contingency actions for technical challenges.
- Drive project financial tracking through cost forecasting, variance analysis, and alignment with program-level targets.
- Coordinate with OEM customers and internal stakeholders to ensure products are developed in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging PMP tools, Kaizen methodologies, and agile workflows.
- Provide clear and consistent communication to leadership and team members, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Implementation of departmental and product group strategy.
- Coordination with other project managers on processes, interfaces and cross-functional tasks.
- Active participation in the innovation process & continuous improvement.
- Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex, technical projects, preferably in medical device or similar regulated industries.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results in a matrixed environment.
- Willingness to travel globally (Czech Republic, US) periodically. Up to 20%.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PMP).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
