About the Role
This entry-level position involves general labor in a safe work environment, adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role focuses on various production tasks including machine operation, packaging, and material handling.
Responsibilities
- Rotate around the table and complete all jobs on the stuffing tables.
- Set up and tear down casing table.
- Flush casings onto horns.
- Move up to 40 pounds of casings from casing runner to stuffing table.
- Pull coils out of turntable.
- Break and fix holes/tie knots to best utilize casings.
- Match coils for hangars to get 14-16 loops per stick.
- Twirl, pick up, and hang sausage and links at rate prescribed by Industrial Engineering and as specified by Quality Control.
- Setup machines for stuffing tables.
- Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Complete all paperwork and SAP functions.
- Enter data, print, read and comprehend information in SAP.
- Keep area clean.
- Empty gut pans into edible or inedible tanks.
- Observe all quality specifications.
- Maintain general manufacturing practices.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work as assigned by management.
- Cut clips from finished product.
- Operate a Multivac.
- Fill boxes.
- Stack boxes of finished product.
- Move product as needed.
- Remove racks.
- Label and date boxes.
- Operate packaging machines.
- Ensure materials are needed to and from the production line to produce and pack product.
- Set up, run, and clean equipment.
- Set up and tear down of casing.
- Hang sausage.
- Hang links.
Requirements
- Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
- Willing and able to use both hands to perform various tasks.
- Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
- Willing and able to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- Willing and able to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
- Willing and able to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
- Willing and able to distinguish between shades and/or colors.
- Must complete the task after submitting an application to provide additional information to be considered for employment.
