About the Role

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP is seeking a 3rd or 4th year associate to join the New York Litigation-General practice group. The role involves handling all aspects of litigation and developing strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Handling all aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, pleadings, discovery, experts, motions, pretrial, trial, and settlement.
  • Developing and maintaining strong business and client relationships.
  • Managing discovery, including preparing witnesses for deposition.
  • Drafting complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Managing filing and service of pleadings.
  • Working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Exercising strong professional judgment.
  • Developing and growing practice, network, and expertise.
  • Providing the highest level of client service.

Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral advocacy, research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Previous or current employment with an Am Law 100 firm is desired.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise strong professional judgment.
  • Strong organizational and matter management skills.
  • Commitment to developing and growing practice, network, and expertise.
  • Member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
