Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation in workstation as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef on duty.
- Work within the station in a clean, safe, and efficient manner in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of the kitchen.
- Prepare necessary food items as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef, in accordance with standards, in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure no interruption to guest service.
- Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
- Keep workstation clean and organized, including fridge/freezers, countertops, and range tops.
- Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard.
- Keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum; ensure proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food to reduce food cost expense.
- Operate all kitchen equipment and conduct oneself with safety in mind at all times.
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.
- Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in a timely manner.
- Complete other job-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience
- Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards is an asset
- Valid City of Toronto Food Handler Certificate required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

- $25.2 per hour
