About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time Payroll Specialist role within the London Westminster payroll team, offering hybrid working options. The role involves providing comprehensive payroll services to a diverse client portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Provide payroll services to portfolio of clients varying in size and complexity
- Process payrolls on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis
- Process starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, RTI submissions, and pension deductions
- Set up and cease PAYE schemes with HMRC
- Act as primary contact with HMRC for all PAYE related matters
- Calculate auto enrolment pension deductions and ensure compliance
- Upload pension contributions and starters to appropriate pension portals
- BACS file submission
- Submit HMRC RTI information, FPS and EPS ensuring deadlines are met
- Prepare P45s, P60s, Starter Declarations and other relevant forms
- Liaise directly with clients to ensure accuracy of payroll data, answer queries, resolve problems, and provide payroll support
- Communicate with clients, other staff, Directors, and HMRC
- Support clients in the day-to-day running of payroll systems
- Serve as the go-to person for members of the Oxford payroll team
Requirements
- Ideally CIPP qualified with 3-5 years UK payroll experience
- Experience within an accountancy/bureau environment is highly desirable
- Strong IT skills and able to pick up new software packages very quickly
- Highly organised, able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to prioritise workload effectively and work in a flexible manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enjoys a fast-paced work environment
- A self-starter with a high level of resilience
- Demonstrates strong team spirit but also very effective working independently
- A positive “can do” attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop
- Must have full right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered
