About the Role
Goodwill is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Box Truck Driver to join our logistics team. This role is critical for safely and efficiently operating a box truck to transport donations, raw materials, and store deliveries, helping to fuel Goodwill's mission of transforming lives through the power of work.
Responsibilities
- Navigate designated routes to complete pickups and deliveries safely and on time.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch via radio, phone, or digital channels.
- Load and unload trucks with care, protecting merchandise and donated goods.
- Complete required paperwork, including manifests, vehicle logs, inspection reports, and donation counts.
- Conduct daily maintenance checks (fuel, fluids, tire condition, etc.).
- Ensure truck safety at docks, including tire chocking and general inspection.
- Present a clean, professional appearance and a customer-friendly attitude.
- Deliver exceptional service to donors, stores, and the public.
Requirements
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Ability to understand and follow directions and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills in English
- Basic mechanical awareness for vehicle upkeep
- 18 years or older with a solid driving record
- Prior truck driving experience (box truck preferred)
- Experience with pallet jacks, dock operations, or warehouse logistics is a plus
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and road test
- Comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
