About the Role

Join Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities as a Mobile Unit Driver and play a vital role in supporting outreach services within underserved communities. This position offers the opportunity to safely transport staff, equipment, and supplies while helping ensure community members have access to essential health and support services through our mobile programs.

Responsibilities

  • Transport staff within the community to designated venues to provide services.
  • Transport staff conducting agency business.
  • Transport prospective participants to needed services.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner, obeying all traffic laws and parking in legal areas.
  • Ensure passengers wear seat belts.
  • Maintain a travel log including destinations and mileage.
  • Ensure vehicle is maintained in a clean and mechanically safe manner.
  • Ensure vehicle inspections are maintained timely.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is performed at prescribed intervals.
  • Immediately report any vehicular mishaps and/or summonses to a supervisor.
  • File accident reports if the police must be called.
  • Take all safety measures to ensure the safety of passengers and self if the vehicle breaks down.
  • Use the EZ pass for Elmcor vehicles only when applicable.
  • Ensure driver's license is always valid and without restrictions.
  • Use hands-free headphones if using a cell phone while driving.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent with 2-3 years passenger van/mobile unit driving experience and clean driving record.
  • 5-7 years passenger van/mobile unit driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must obtain clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services.
  • Must be substance free.
