About the Role

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator will foster a strong safety culture within our food manufacturing facility and storage warehouses by auditing facilities, training employees, organizing safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a positive and consistent Safety Culture in all processing and packaging areas.
  • Design and deliver safety orientation and refresher training.
  • Perform job hazard analysis.
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections.
  • Assist in managing plant personal protective equipment (PPE), work clothing, and safety equipment programs.
  • Communicate safety hazards and opportunities to managers and supervisors, and follow up on corrections.
  • Conduct audits of safety items (e.g., fire exits, slip/trip/fall hazards, LOTO, machine guards).
  • Gain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, industrial hygiene, environmental, and safety regulations and maintain records.
  • Manage monthly/yearly safety training compliance.
  • Validate proper usage of the PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) program, including training and evaluations.
  • Assist in organizing injury and accident root cause analysis reviews.
  • Observe daily operations, report unsafe conditions/acts, and ensure corrective steps are taken.
  • Partner with management to develop safety policies and programs.
  • Issue progressive discipline with HR and Operations leaders to correct safety issues.
  • Coordinate the safety committee program, developing and coaching a safety committee at each location.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Uphold the values and mission of All Seasonings Ingredients.
  • Follow all policies and procedures set by All Seasonings Ingredients.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have prior knowledge and experience of Safety Compliance in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
  • Clean, valid & current NYS Driver's License.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is subject to: seeing, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers to handle/feel/type, walking, sitting, standing, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to strong aromas of spice, allergens, and particulates in the air.

Salary/Compensations

  • $62,000 - $65,000 Annually
