About the Role
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for leasing, retention, and occupancy duties while promoting resident satisfaction through a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Greet and qualify prospects using guest cards and effective questioning
- Prepare move-in packages and lease paperwork
- Record all telephone and in-person visits on appropriate reports
- Inspect models and market-ready units and communicate service needs to management
- Process applications, secure deposits, and verify credit and rental history
- Monitor renewals and follow up on renewal notices
- Monitor advertising effectiveness and gather market competition data
- Accept rental payments
- Input information into the Yardi system accurately and on time
- Assist the management team with various tasks as required
- Implement community policies consistently
Requirements
- Experience in working with the public and/or sales
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Fair Housing Certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to support and contribute to the community team
- Proficiency with telephone, personal computer, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Two years of previous relevant customer service experience
- Ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns
